Paul describes eight character traits needed for ministry and life:

I. WE MUST BE STRONG – vv. 1-2

1- The Reason for Our Strength

2- The Source of Our Strength

3- The Focus of Our Strength

II. WE MUST BE SINGLE-MINDED – vv. 3-4

1- Endure Hardship

2- Avoid Entanglements

3- Please the Commander

III. WE MUST BE STRICT – v. 5

1- For the Athlete

2- For the Pastor and Believer

IV. WE MUST BE SELF-MOTIVATED – vv. 6-10

1- The Example of Motivation- v. 6

2- The Fuel for Motivation- vv. 7-10
